Intrusive pig signaller

Intrusive Pig Signaller indicates the passage of a pig through a direct contact with passing pig.

The pig signaller is installed to a pipeline using a special welded boss. The connector can be installed online, using a special hot tapping machine (the pig signaller‘s plug is compatible with most types of hot tapping machines). It is then fitted with the pig signaller plug, which has an omnidirectional metal trigger pin.

When a cleaning pig passes the signaller, it activates a trigger pin, which moves a magnet in the upper part of the monitoring cap. This movement then activates another magnet on the signaller, which activates a visual plastic flag, or activates a micro-switch, that sends information about the pig’s passage to a remote monitoring system.

The signaller can be mounted using a welded boss, flange connection, or using a combination of a flange connection and ball valve.

The signaller can be configured as visual (using a mechanical flag), electrical (using a micro-switch), or combined with flag and switch.

Signallers can be manufactured and delivered with an optional extension, for buried pipelines.
